After losing his mother and collapsing from hunger, Ryunosuke Ibuki is taken in by Kamo Serizawa and begins living with the Roshigumi. Meeting Toshizo Hijikata and Isami Kondo, he discovers the convictions of men striving to become samurai, before the Shinsengumi is formed. Seiya Kimura, Hiroki Hyakuna, Hidetoshi Kubota and Masashi Taniguchi lead the cast.
