The first Hakuoki Shitan production revisits the script of the 2013 Toshizo Hijikata musical with new staging and a renewed cast. It follows Shinsengumi vice-commander Toshizo Hijikata, Chizuru Yukimura and their companions through the final years of the Edo period. Masanari Wada plays Hijikata, with Marina Mori as Chizuru.
